Degrassi High is the third television show in the Degrassi series of teen dramas about the lives of a group of teenagers living on or near De Grassi Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It first aired from 1989 to 1991 and followed the young people from The Kids of Degrassi Street and Degrassi Junior High through high school. The show was filmed in downtown Toronto and at Centennial College. Much like its predecessor, Degrassi High dealt with controversial issues ranging from AIDS, abortion, abuse, alcoholism, cheating, sex, death and suicide, dating, depression, bullying, gay rights, homophobia, racism, the environment, drugs, and eating disorders. The show's impact on Canadian identity is discussed in the September 2007 issue of u're Magazine.

Dog the Bounty Hunter was an American reality television series on A&E which chronicled Duane "Dog" Chapman's adventures as a fugitive recovery agent, or bounty hunter. Naked Jungle was a one-off television game show produced by the United Kingdom terrestrial TV station Channel 5 in 2000. In itself a fairly innocuous gameshow with an assault course format, it was controversial because its contestants were all nudists. The programme's presenter, Keith Chegwin, was also naked. The full-frontal scenes of genitalia caused a furore in the national media, especially in the Daily Mail, which described the show as having "plumbed new depths [of indecency on television]". The show also attracted criticism in the House of Commons. No follow-up programmes were made. Chegwin identified Naked Jungle as "the worst career move" in his entire life. The programme was made by the same producers as CITV's Jungle Run, and used the same set as well as following the same format. A video of Naked Jungle was released by Universal Home Entertainment in late 2000
